Department of International Economics and Business is, in its realm, one of the earliest teaching and research units ever established in China. It has 2 undergraduate programs in International Economics and Business & Marketing, 5 master programs and 5 doctoral programs in International Trade, World Economy, Service Trade, International Economics and International Business. This department possesses a strong teaching force, which have produced rich scientific research achievements. Now it has 10 professors, 7 doctoral supervisors, and 11 associate professors. 63% of its teachers hold a doctoral degree. In the past three years, they have published over 20 monographs and over 200 theses, have completed over 20 national and provincial research projects and have been granted several provincial awards.
The Department has made great achievements in talent cultivation. It has attached great importance to quality training for its students, emphasized on solid foundation and wide vision, and aimed at training students to be expert in one field and good at many. Benefiting from the advanced educating ideals, students in this department have won gold medals from the “Challenge Cup Entrepreneur Program Contest of Chinese College Students” for five consecutive years.
The Department takes initiative to promote academic exchange. It has maintained frequent academic exchange with universities from Europe, the United States, Japan and Russia and established close ties with more and more foreign academic institutions. 60% of its teachers have been abroad, where they pursued their study or went as visiting scholars.

1、International Trade
Objectives: This major aims to train students to lay a solid foundation of theory in international economy and international trade and have a comprehensive professional knowledge and the ability in scientific research, innovation and a good command of foreign languages. Students will become specialists and can be qualified for the work of teaching, scientific research, and practice in international economy and international trade.
Fields of research: Theory and policies of international trade; research on Chinese foreign trade; research on applied international trade, research on the trade development in different countries and areas; research on international business management and marketing
Major courses: Advanced Macroeconomics, Advanced Microeconomics, International Economics, Theory and policies of international trade, research on Chinese Foreign Trade, Research on International Marketing, etc.

2、World Economy
Objectives: Students are required to have a systematic command of Marxist economic theory, basic theory and techniques in economics and be familiar with the development and status quo of world economy and China. They will become specialists and should have a good ability to analyze and make researches on current economic issues of the world and China.
Fields of research: Research on theories and policies of international finance; international economic relations; research on MNEs; macroeconomic analysis of open economy.
Major courses:Advanced Macroeconomics, Advanced Microeconomics, World Economy, International Investment, Research on International Finance, Theory and Practice of International Economic Relations, etc.

3、Service Trade
Objectives: This major is offered to train students with political quality and moral integrity. They are required to lay a solid foundation of theory in service trade and have comprehensive professional knowledge and the ability to do scientific research. Students will become specialists and can be qualified for the work of teaching, scientific research, and practice in service trade.
Fields of research: theory and policy of service trade; research on Chinese foreign service trade, research in the fields related to service trade; research on the development of service trade in different countries and areas; research on service marketing and management.
Major courses: Advanced Macroeconomics, Advanced Microeconomics, Research on Theories and Policies of Service Trade, Research on Chinese Foreign Service trade, Research on the Legal System for Service trade, Research on Service Marketing, etc.

They will be educated to cultivate the ability to carry out the scientific research and teaching independently and become innovational specialists in relative fields.
Fields of research: 01 International trade and taxation; 02 international trade theory and policy
Major courses:Advanced Microeconomics (II), Advanced Macroeconomics (II), International Economics, International Trade and Taxation, Theory and Practice of Finance and Taxation, Research on International Theory and Policy, etc.

2、World Economy
Objectives: This major is offered to train students with a good command of Marxist
Economic theory & modern economics and a comprehensive knowledge of the
development history and status quo of world economy and China. They should have a
deep understanding of the hot issues and theory perspectives of contemporary world
economy and China.They will become specialists to apply the fundamental theories and
methods in economics to analyze and study the historical and current economic issues of
the world and China.
Fields of research: 01 Economic globalization and international economic relations; 02 European economy and finance; 03 developing economics; and 04 Asian and Pacific economy and finance.
